Mr. Mar concentrates on all phases of patent activities in mechanical and metallurgical technologies. He currently serves as the firm’s CFO. He provides legal consultation to Asian patent attorneys, private firms, and enterprises before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Mar also prosecutes applications before the USPTO and federal courts and consults with clients regarding issues of patentability, patent infringement, patent validity, patent litigation, and patent licensing.
Mr. Mar was invited to present the keynote addresses at the First (November 11, 2008) and Second (October 31, 2009) International Intellectual Property Rights Forums of Sanjiaozhou held in Shunde District, Foshan, Guangdong, China. The Second Forum address was entitled “How Foreign Enterprises May Protect Exports to the United States Through the U.S. Patent System.” The forum included approximately 200 attendees from the enterprise, government, and private practice sectors and was covered by local and national Chinese news media.
Before joining Bacon & Thomas, Mr. Mar worked for three years as a
patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
