Mr. Kenney, former Partner and member of the firm from 1973 to 2012, is currently Of Counsel to the firm and is engaged in all phases of patent law practice in the mechanical, electro-mechanical, and industrial design technologies with emphasis on business planning and strategy based on patents and intellectual property; protection of inventions internationally through foreign patents, interferences, and appeals before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; litigation support and counseling; licensing; counseling international clients on U.S. patent regulations and practice; and enforcement of patent rights against infringers.
He represents individual and corporate clients from the United States, Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Iceland, Japan, Korea, and other countries in patent matters before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and provides counsel to such clients on U.S. patent related issues.
Prior to joining Bacon & Thomas, he was associated with the former Manufacturers Aircraft Association in New York City for 15 years, where he managed a patent research group in the aerospace and aeronautical technologies and was engaged as an arbitrator of aerospace and aeronautical patent disputes that constituted some of the Association’s activities in its role as administrator of a patent cross-license agreement between the domestic aircraft and aerospace manufacturers originally established under U.S. government sponsorship.
